OCTOBER 2020 UPDATE

We are delighted to have received so much positive feedback from our guests during this challenging time, with our patrons stating that they feel extremely safe whilst they enjoy the tranquil and friendly environment that Cleatham Hall offers. This makes us a perfect place to safely enjoy a beautiful meal or relaxing stay in the stunning 10 acre estate.

The following update details our procedures for restaurant and hotel bookings, and the extensive Covid-19 precautions that we have in place which ensure that Cleatham Hall patrons feel totally safe and relaxed whilst they enjoy their meal or stay with us.

Restaurant booking:

When making a reservation guests are guided through our Covid-19 precautions, and if at any point a member of the party does not feel well before arrival the reservation can be postponed.

Upon arriving at the Hall guests are talked through our Covid-19 precautions, asked to sanitise their hands as they enter, then scan the NHS Track and Trace QR code to check in (if they don’t have the App they can manually sign in by leaving contact details)

Hand sanitiser is placed at every entry/exit point of the Hall.

Masks are to be worn when within the Hall, from arrival until exit - unless seated at the table.

Reservation times are staggered, so that no 2 tables arrive at the same time.

Social distancing is to be kept at 1+ for all guests at all times whilst in the Hall & Grounds

Table reservations are a maximum of 6 guests.

All food and drink must be ordered from, and served at the table.

Card payment/contactless is the preferred form of payment – payment will be taken at the table (card machine’s are cleaned with antibacterial cleaner between every use).

The Hall will close at the national curfew time of 10pm (except for hotel guests).

All tables are at least 2 metres apart to allow for social distancing.

Public toilets are cleaned every 30 minutes.

Ladies and Gentlemen’s toilets restricted to a maximum of 2 at any one time to accommodate social distancing recommendations.

JULY 2020 UPDATE

We are thrilled to announce that we shall be reopening our doors to guests from Saturday 4th July 2020.

As we moved into 2020, we were full of excitement about the activity ahead of us all! In January and February the hotel and restaurant were busier than we had planned. We had bookings for Christenings, Baby showers and birthday celebrations. We already had a full wedding season planned, starting in April, as well as a number of our regular and new hotel guests booked for stays in the first half of the year. Dan Hadfield as Gary Barlow was due to serenade our mums on Mothers Day, and we were about to launch our new “Private dining by Jack” service, but it all came to an abrupt stop on March the 23rd.

Since then Kate and I have spent our time keeping the grounds and property ready for action. We have also, in conjunction with a local voluntary group, been donating 20 take away afternoon teas each week to vulnerable and isolating people in surrounding villages.

With a number of our weddings postponed till next year, we are still hopeful that we will be able to go ahead with a number of weddings in the latter part of this year, albeit slightly smaller affairs with whatever social distancing rules we will be required to put in place.

We are looking forward to being able to reopen our restaurant and bar in early July for afternoon teas, lunches, and dinners. The hotel is now ready to reopen. We have even upgraded the Trent bedroom suite with a fabulous new super kingsize bed.  As all of our bedrooms have their own en suite facilities, this allows guests to stay hygienically safe during their stay.

If that doesn’t have you packing your bags come the 4th of July, then perhaps the thought of wonderfully fresh cooked food enjoyed with some delicious wines will.  The whole team are excited about our guests returning, albeit slightly differently to how it was before.  There will be fewer seats and less contact, but the same warm smiles will be greeting you and making your experience with us a memorable one.  We are in the ‘cheering up’ business and that is exactly what we intend to do… oh, how we have missed you.

We look forward to seeing you very soon. Our main objective is to help you relax and enjoy the Cleatham Hall service.  It goes without saying the health, safety and well-being of our guests and team remains our number one priority.  We have reviewed all our procedures across each part of our business to ensure that we keep everyone safe, and we will continue to review our approach based upon UK Government guidelines and Public Health England with our 5 point plan below.

Our Standards & Plan

Each area of our business has carried out a Covid-19 risk assessment and Standard Operating Procedure plan addressing the specific adjustments needed for each part of our business. Full plans are available on request, but we have summarised the details in our five point safety plan below.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at enquiry@cleathamhall.com

Our Five point safety plan

1. Health Checks

Our staff, when returning to work, must complete a mandatory health screening with daily health declarations completed to ensure they are symptom free and fit to work.

Any staff member showing symptoms will be immediately sent home and required to self-isolate for 14 days and follow government guidelines before returning to work.

Our booking confirmation and pre-arrival email communications provide additional information relating to health and hygiene.

If you are staying with us, you can expect a phone call prior to arrival to complete a health check ahead of your stay.

We ask that if you or any accompanying persons are showing any symptoms of Covid-19 that you postpone your visit.

We have increased our flexibility on postponing bookings due to the serious nature and consequences of ignoring any symptoms.

2. Team Training, cleaning and hygiene

Our team will be briefed and trained in our new enhanced cleaning procedures and the responsibility they have to their colleagues and guests.

High contact points will be sanitised every two hours.

Hand sanitiser stations will be available throughout all areas and we request you use them when you enter the building.  We welcome you to use them at any point during you time with us.

Extra sanitiser is located at all entry and exit points for our teams to use when entering and leaving their place of work.

Hand washing will be for a minimum of 20 seconds every hour.

3. Personal protection

Personal protective equipment is provided for necessary tasks and in use in accordance with government guidelines.

4. Social distancing measures

We have taken all reasonable steps to maintain a safe and social distance within the workplace and a 1 metre plus social distancing will be observed.

In our restaurant we have reduced seating capacity and, in some locations, extended seating into additional areas, including outside spaces.

We will be promoting a directional flow for guests and staff, some of which may involve a ‘one-way’ direction, which will be clearly marked or signposted.  We ask that everyone observe these.

5. Payments and Technology

We accept card payments, contactless payment and other technology capabilities (such as ApplePay) to provide guests with a reduced-contact experience.
